Xerox Supplier Diversity Frequently Asked Questions

What is the mission of the Xerox Supplier Diversity Program? As a global leader in business process and document management, Xerox recognizes that having a diverse supplier pool is a major competitive advantage and a powerful business tool. Xerox’s supplier diversity mission is to proactively identify, build relationships with, and purchase goods and services from certified Small and Diverse Businesses that help Xerox achieve its corporate objectives.

Is certification required to do business with Xerox? In order for small and diverse suppliers to do business with Xerox, it is necessary to complete the certification process with a reputable third party certification organization.

Which third party organization certifications do you accept? Xerox accepts certifications from the nationally recognized organizations (NSMDC, WBENC), government entities (SBA), and other acceptable National, State and Local Groups.

I am already certified by a State, why do I need to get certified by other organizations? State certifications are for pursuing and conducting business with various government entities: agencies, cities, counties, etc. The certification issued by NMSDC, WBENC and (other third party certification organizations) are primarily for the private sector. However, there are state agencies that accept certifications from local affiliates associated with NMSDC and WBENC.

How do I register with Xerox as a potential supplier? To register, go to www.xerox.com/globalpurchasing

Does registering guarantee that I will obtain contracts with Xerox? No. It shall be the policy of Xerox that small and diverse suppliers will have an equal opportunity to be included in our strategic sourcing and procurement process. Companies that seek to do business with Xerox must demonstrate the ability to add value, and provide high-quality goods and services that are competitively priced, reliable, and aligned with our superior level of service.

How long does the registration process take? After your registration is submitted, the process takes approximately 30 business days.

What happens to the registration information after it has been processed? A Supplier's company information will be available for buyers' review for twelve months from date of submission. Global Procurement encourages purchasers to request proposals from the firms listed in the database, especially those that are located in their geographic areas. Inclusion in the database does not automatically guarantee that a supplier will be contacted for business with Xerox Corporation. Suppliers will be contacted based on the needs of the business.
