The Customer: Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council
Blaenau Gwent CBC delivers services to five towns in Wales, with a total population of 68,400. It’s divided into 16 political wards, with 42 elected officials.
The Challenges: During COVID-19, normal county services were disrupted. Staff working remotely faced communication issues with customers, including being able to respond to service requests in a timely and safe manner. Blaenau Gwent CBC also needed to ensure documents could be distributed securely.
The Solution: DocuShare Flex. In less than 10 days, Xerox delivered a digital mailroom that:
Sorted, prepared, scanned, and indexed all inbound mail in an ISO accredited center.
Gave remote staff a cloud platform with online access to mail.
Ensured all digital files could be searched, forwarded, and fully managed.
Printed or mailed outbound communication to customers.
The Benefits: Blaenau Gwent CBC could now work remotely and access documents securely, while ensuring all communications could continue internally and with customers. Thanks to DocuShare Flex, staff had increased accessibility and security of all internal and external documents, all within a matter of days.
