An end-to-end Xerox® scanning service is helping Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust to achieve its digital strategy as an NHS Global Digital Exemplar.
The trust was already capturing patient notes electronically at the point of care, but was still managing millions of paper-based historical records in its four onsite libraries and an offsite archive. It was determined to free up valuable hospital space and improve access to patient data by digitising all of these records, while simultaneously reducing its records management budget year-on-year.
Read the case study to see how the trust's partnership with Xerox is key to the achievement of this objective.
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust case study highlights:
- 547m2 of floor space claimed back for clinical use so far, with more still to come (and a new 23-bed ward in plan)
- >30% reduction in health records budget in 2 years (and on track to reduce budget to £0.5m through 5-year strategy)
- 50% reduction in records staff (from 113 to 56) while avoiding redundancy costs
