Crease Types
Crease Types and Adjustments: The following types of creasing are available with the optional Crease and Two-Sided Trimmer module installed.
Note: The A, B, and C designations on the images indicate the corresponding crease position length adjustments that you can make.
Crease - Bi-Fold Single Sheet
A Bi-Fold has one crease which creates two panels to the output.
Crease - C-Fold
A C-Fold has two creases which creates a three-panel output.
Crease - Z-Fold
A Z-Fold has two creases that are folded in opposite directions, resulting in a type of fan fold. In the Z-Fold, the paper is creases in equal thirds.
Z-Fold Half Sheet
As with a regular Z-Fold, the Z-Fold Half Sheet has two creases that are folded in the opposite directions. The difference between a regular Z-Fold and a Z-Fold Half Sheet is that the half sheet is not creased in two equal lengths. The two creases are unequal which allows one edge of the Z-Fold Half Sheet to have a longer edge. The longer edge allows for stapling or hole punching.
Note: Each Z-Fold Half Sheet added to a stapled set counts as 10 sheets. It reduces the total number of sheets for any given specified weight range.
Double Gate Fold
In Double Gate Folds, the paper is creased in half and then creased in half again with a fold parallel to the first fold. One-half of the sheet of paper is nested inside the other half.
Crease - Double Parallel Fold
In Double Parallel Folds, the paper is creased with the two outside fold panels each folding toward the middle. One-half of the sheet of paper is nested inside the other half.
Accordion 3 Fold
An Accordion 3 Fold is similar to a Z-Fold; however, the paper is creased in thirds accordion style.
Crease - Accordion 4 Fold
In an Accordion 4 Fold, the paper is creased in quarters accordion style.
Crease - Accordion 5 Fold
In an Accordion 5 Fold, the paper is creased in fifths accordion style.
