Xerox Solid Ink Technology Sets New Standard for Digital Color Printing, While Reducing Waste

Cairo, Jun 02, 2010 Xerox Egypt recently announced the introduction of the ColorQube 9200 Series - the world's first high-speed solid ink multifunction printers - to the Egyptian market. The ColorQube 9200 Series represents a dramatic shift in the world of digital color printing, offering enhanced performance with reduced environmental impact.

These devices utilize exclusive Xerox-patented solid ink technology that reduces waste by up to 90 percent compared to similar inks. The state-of-the-art series uses 9% less lifecycle energy and produces 10% less greenhouse gases than other comparable laser devices. Offering this technology is in line with Xerox's commitment to creating products that allow for environmental sustainability while contributing to economic development, as well as enabling customers to achieve maximum operational efficiency at the lowest possible cost.

The solid ink technology utilized in the ColorQube 9200 Series offers users improved color management and high levels of control over print consistency across a wide range of media - providing for top-quality products. The ink is cartridge-free and comes in non-toxic, crayon-like ink sticks that are easy to load and require very limited maintenance. Enough ink can be loaded into a ColorQube 9200 device to print as many as 55,500 pages without a refill - and when a refill is required, the easy drop-in ink sticks can be loaded during printing, thus eliminating delays.

The new solid inks dry rapidly and provide quick color fixation, consistent color printing quality, and wide ranges of gradients, points, and color combinations. The inks also allow for a high degree of gloss, enabling users to print high-end materials, as well as setting new standards for digital color printing.

It is worth mentioning that the ColorQube 9200 Series is made up of three models that can each print, scan, and copy, with print speeds ranging from 38 to 85 pages per page. Additionally, the inks employed meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's rigorous new 2009 ENERGY STAR® requirements.
