Cleveland Public Library patrons were asking for faxing, scanning and color printing at its 28 branches. The library’s black-and-white devices had become outdated. Knowing an upgrade was in order, the library teamed with Xerox.
Now 1.4 million patrons can fax, scan and print in color, and do so wirelessly via mobile devices. Patrons simply swipe their library cards and use the same password to print as they do to reserve books. Since the system is self-serve, library staff spend more time helping patrons with their information needs rather than trouble-shooting printers.
