The convenience of wireless printing
A single function printer is one whose function is solely to print. Others may copy, scan, fax or email. These are known as multi-function printers.
Both multi and single function printers can connect over wireless networks for added convenience. This provides myriad benefits for both office and home users:
- Simple connectivity: You can connect to a wireless printer wherever you are, providing you are using the same network connection as your printer. For example, you might be in a meeting and need to print a document quickly – you could do this simply from your mobile phone.
- Multiple users: There is no limit to the number of devices that can link to your single function printer. This makes them ideal for office environments, where multiple users may all want to print from various technology e.g. desktops or tablets.
- Quick setup: There’s no engineer required – single use printers can be set up in offices easily. All you need to do is connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network, install the driver onto your device and link up.
- Space savings: With fewer cables, you’ll have less crowded spaces. This keeps office environments safe and sustainable. You can save more space by using an all-in-one printer for faxing, copying and email.
AirPrint printers
An option on some wireless single function printers is AirPrint. This is a technology used in Apple products that means users do not have to install drivers on their devices. Instead, they would use the AirPrint app on their Apple device to connect to and print from the printer via a Wi-Fi network.
