FreeFlow™ DocuSP™

Description - FreeFlow DocuSP
DocuSP (Document Services Platform) is a raster image processing (RIP) and print management controller for production-class printers in the Xerox DocuPrint and DocuTech families. Representing the future of the Xerox enterprise print strategy, DocuSP brings cross-platform functionality to Xerox Production Printers and Publishers -- adding enhanced value, new capabilities, and increased efficiency to production environments enterprise wide.

With exceptional queue management, job processing, and printer control capabilities, DocuSP provides you with all the flexibility and versatility you need for an uncomplicated print run.

For Production Publishing, DocuSP is the brains behind the DocuTech 2000 Series Production Publishers. Offering Adobe Postscript Level 3, PDF, TIFF, and PCL5e support, DocuSP enables DocuTech to handle the print jobs in today's dynamic publishing environments.

For Production Printing, DocuSP provides the critical features required for the transactional printing market. Xerox LCDS (Line Conditioned Data Stream) is handled as a native PDL, including DJDE's and Metacode support. Job Streaming mode allows printing of long jobs without the usual queue size constraints or delays in receiving an entire job before printing. And since you need a printer that can handle more than just your transactional printing, DocuSP with LCDS can also print PostScript, PDF, PCL5e and TIFF jobs. Currently, DocuSP LCDS is available in the DocuPrint 180 EPS.

DocuSP is scalable. Based on the Sun Ultra Sparc workstation, DocuSP can drive printers from the 65 PPM DocuTech 65 up to the DocuPrint 900 Plus, a 900 PPM production printing and publishing system. And because these products share the same controller, they integrate quickly and easily into your environment providing the most productive printing solutions available today.

Managing production workflows and building reliable, scaleable Xerox printing solutions has never been easier. DocuSP offers the broadest mix of features, standards, performance, and functionality currently available from any manufacturer. Its technology allows you to increase efficiency and maximise productivity as you broaden your range of applications and manage legacy documents on new printing platforms.

Product Highlights - FreeFlow DocuSP
Many applications can print on multiple DocuSP-based printers with little or no change since DocuSP implements features in a consistent way. Solutions developed for one printer can be processed on other devices, saving time and increasing flexibility. A common User Interface simplifies printer and job management, reducing the need for extensive operator training and reducing delays and errors. DocuSP supports the most widely used PDLs like Postscript, PDF, PCL, LCDS and others. Multiple PDLs are handled with a robust queuing and virtual printer capabilities, so you never need to reconfigure or reboot for different jobs. Supports non-traditional configurations to enable network printing of legacy applications. Compliant with numerous standards and administrative frameworks to ease the integration of DocuSP-based products into diverse print environments. DocuSP technology provides job ticket support on Xerox continuous feed and production devices. Job tickets offer an efficient, reusable means for tracking print job customisation and production features. Use of the Sun platform allows Xerox to expand DocuSP functionality and performance improvements to these powerful workstations. Building common software on this standard platform provides for more reliable operation while delivering features needed today and in the future. Other features include remote diagnostics; error reporting and accounting; local and Web-based graphical user interfaces. Support for international double-byte printing, where available, for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean fonts. Drivers and job submission clients for Windows(r), Macintosh(r), and UNIX systems.
