business Graph Expo 2011 Edition
In 1995,
started
with a simple concept; offer the least expensive “pro cards.” Pro
cards are cards that agencies supply to models and actors for
casting calls. Each agency had a different style and feel that they
liked their cards to represent. Today, ProCards prints thousands of
cards a month in over 20 different styles.
Through the years, ProCards expanded printing to include photos
from modeling and talent shows held in malls around the U.S.
They now do the printing for 180 malls on top of their regular
pro card business. ProCards has been a Xerox customer since
the beginning because Xerox offered a variety of both color and
black-and-white printers. After several upgrades, ProCards settled
on the
®
which they have been using for the bulk
of their printing for years.
Eventually ProCards started offeringphoto books as well as their
traditional cards to their client base. Business took off, but the
need to bring the complete operation of photobooks in-house
was soon apparent. Xerox sent them to Fastbind’s corporate
office for demonstrations, and ProCards purchased a
and H32 Pro and quickly worked their way up to
making 500 books a month. The increased profit cleared the way
for ProCards to purchase a
®
800
for increased
speed. As Doug Waldbuerger of ProCards states, “We can put
our print jobs in at night and they are ready to be made into
books when we come in the next day; the enhanced duplexing
capability has allowed us to gain tremendous productivity gains.”
