Get answers to frequently asked questions about applying for the Xerox Technical Minority Scholarship.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must be academic high-achievers (3.0 or better GPA). Applicants must be US citizens or visa-holding Permanent Residents of African American, Asian, Pacific Island, Native American, Native Alaskan, or Hispanic descent. They must be enrolled as a full time undergraduate or graduate student in any of the following technical fields:
- Chemistry
- Information Management
- Computing & Software Systems
- Material Science
- Printing Management Science
- Laser Optics
- Physics
- Material Science
- Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Imaging, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Optical, or Software)
How can I apply?
The application deadline for the 2012-2013 scholarship has passed; no additional submissions can be accepted at this time. The application for 2013-2014 will be available January 1, 2013. Please revisit this site in January for details and link to our online application.
What is the deadline for submitting applications?
All applications must be submitted online by September 30 or received at the program office with a postmark dated prior to September 30 of the current year.
Will I receive a confirmation that the program office has received my application?
Each applicant will receive an acknowledgement via the email address provided.
How will I know if I have been selected to receive a scholarship award?
Winners and non-winners will be notified by December 31st. Individuals not selected to receive an award are eligible to submit another application for the next year. All qualification criteria must be met for the succeeding year's application period. 2011-2012 Recipient List
I am entering my first year of college, how will you consider my GPA?
The application makes note that the high school GPA will be considered for first year college students.
I am in transition from my undergraduate university to graduate school. Which school should I have fill out the financial aid section of the application form?
The institution to which you have been accepted, in this case, the graduate school. If you have not been accepted, apply after acceptance. Most schools will confirm acceptance prior to September 30.
