Open Innovation

The Xerox Research Centre India was seeded and built on a strong Open Innovation model that connects researchers and scientists from across Xerox in close, collaborative partnerships with leading academic institutions, research labs, and industry partners in India.

With open innovation as the cornerstone of its R&D strategy, the centre leverages the power of truly global innovation networks. Our researchers, along with their peers from Xerox labs in the US and Europe, work with faculty, students and research personnel in India on cutting-edge research topics inspired by leading global industrial trends.

Our collaborators to date include IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, Indian Institute of Science, Srishti Labs, University of Manipal, IIT Mandi, and IIT Madras’s Rural Technology Business Incubator. Research activities under these partnerships cover a broad range of topics including cloud computing, services marketplace design, multilingual technology development, personalized information delivery, video-based patient monitoring and rural technology initiatives.

Our Open Innovation initiative is complemented by a strong student fellowship and internship program. In addition to participating in the annual internship program at our centre, students from these partnerships will have the opportunity to increase their global exposure and training via internship and postdoctoral programs in our sister labs in the US and Europe.
