UnipriNT enables organisations to track individual print requests and recover the print costs. It uses the print server as an intermediary between the client and the printer. The print server takes delivery of the job, spools and logs it. Using a client PC configured as a Release Station, the job owner or system administrator releases the job at the client. A card reader attached to the client registers the charge for the job before it is released.UnipriNT also operates in a pass through mode, primarily used to track printing. This mode can also bill printing back to individual users or departments using a cost centre or database. A Release Station is not required for this mode, which can be implemented without the knowledge of the user.Optional software can be placed on the client to gather user identity and any other information.
