 The Best of the Best - Award Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the Xerox Best-of-the-Best Contest. Competition was fierce, with an incredible number of graphic communications entries submitted by the Xerox Premier Partners Global Network.
A panel of judges were impressed by the innovation and results-generating applications that truly showcased the capabilities of Xerox digital production equipment. All winners were selected based on image quality, ease of trade show reproduction, business results and use of Xerox technology. Take a look at the best of the best.
 | Global Diseña Spain, Books and Manuals
RENFE, a state-owned railway company in Spain, asked Global Diseña to produce five versions of its annual report while lowering the overall printing cost. Global Diseña exceeded RENFEs expectations, printing all five versions of the report on a Xerox iGen4 Press for 35% less cost than the previous year. RENFE was so impressed, they used Global Diseña for more work, including business cards for 15,000 employees and quick updates to railway timetables. Global Diseña increased its print volumes 20%, and also provided a web-to-print service that easily met all of RENFEs print-on-demand needs.

When Print Media Management (PMM) made the bold decision to create the worlds first 100% variable content publication, they turned to MBA Group. The targeted advertising generated 256% more leads while reducing PPMs environmental footprint compared with prior campaigns

A highly effective self-promotional calendar gave ColorFast a 60% boost in sales and a 25% increase in impressions. The self-standing flip calendar, which was printed on a Xerox 700 Digital Color Press with Fiery EX Print Server, proved to customers what can be achieved through digital color printing.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup presented the perfect opportunity for De Budelse to showcase their digital printing capability. Using a Xerox iGen4 Digital Press with Xerox FreeFlow Print Server, De Budelse designed a personalized World Cup calendar that soccer supporters could use to follow their teams progress and track scores as teams advanced. Using XMPie, De Budelse incorporated each purchasers logo and company name to customize the calendars, and printed them on long-lasting, FSC-certified substrate. Even in its early mockup stage, the calendar generated orders from six partners, and De Budelse forecasts a volume of 30,000 total pieces.

Keiger Direct created a web-to-print online stationery store for Coldwell Banker® Realtor® Sherri Buxton, with customized brochures ready for delivery in two days. This helped Sherri Buxton become the top producer for her entire company, and opened the door to new line of business for Keiger Direct.

Lateral Group produced packages for Englands Change4Life campaign aimed at reducing levels of childhood obesity. The packages, which included personalized action plans created using XMPie and a Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press, were well received. Sign-ups were 200% over target, and 80% of respondents have shown a long-term commitment to continuing with the program. In turn, Lateral Group won more business and numerous awards for the campaign, including Best Overall Solution in the 2010 Xerox Premier Partners Best-of-the-Best Contest.

medialogik helped the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) produce its annual agendas more cost effectively by printing covers on an offset press and inside content on a Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press. This process eliminated over-production and boosted the profit margin for each agenda to approximately 45% of the retail price.

dsicmm Group and Gyro:HSR ad agency helped retool Virgin Atlantics more than 600,000 welcome packs for Flying Club loyalty program members. They created personalized packs, so each of the three membership tiers received information specific to them. They used offset and digital presses together, choosing a Xerox iGen3 100 Digital Production Press for its ability to digitally overprint color onto stock preprinted with metallic gold inks. The personal, slimmed-down packs cost less to product and mail, and minimized environmental impact with 100% recyclable materials. And dsicmm earned a 3-year contract with Virgin Atlantic.

With an incredibly personalized, variable data campaign printed on a Xerox iGen4 Digital Press with Xerox FreeFlow Print Server, Progressive Communications garnered a lot of attention. Not only did they receive a Best Overall Solution Award in our 2010 Xerox Premier Partners Best-of-the-Best contest, but they also generated nearly a 17% response rate, 11.5% registration rate and 68.49% conversion rate.

WilsonMcGuire Creative worked with Keiger Direct to produce a cross-media campaign for Pinehurst golf resort. Keiger took 672 possible variations generated by a survey in the initial mailing and programmed these as variable fields on printed brochures using XMPie and the Xerox iGen4 Digital Press. These extreme levels of personalization drove an 11.3% response rate and 50 more attendees in Pinehursts spring golf school.

In China, many couples give richly designed photo books to guests at their wedding ceremony. Wuhan Caifeng took the keepsake to a new level by designing an oversized, magazine-style wedding book filled with photos evoking movie star glamour. After testing their specialty photo book on several digital presses, Wuhan Caifeng chose the Xerox iGen3™ 90 Digital Production Press for its image quality, color consistency and substrate flexibility.

DMM created an Adopt-a-Loon postcard program for the BioDiversity Research Institute (BRI) using a Xerox iGen4 Digital Press driven by a Xerox FreeFlow Print Server. The specialty photo postcards used variable text to target new prospects, as well as past and current contributors. The campaign resulted in a 14.4% increase in revenue over the previous year for BRI, and more business projected for DMM.

The online photo book publishing company MyPicTales partnered with Colorcentric Corporation to print a high-quality cosmetics photo book on a Xerox iGen3 110 Digital Production Press using a Xerox FreeFlow Print Server and Xerox Digital Color Elite Silk 100 lb. text and cover stock. The cosmetics companys photo book was such a success, it created an influx of work for MyPicTales, which drove their revenue 20% higher in eight months.

Tele Mail incorporated variable data printing into the Accord Groups member statements, which helped the Accord Group more effectively target customers by demographics, interests and purchasing habits. The statements, which were printed digitally on a Xerox 980 Color Continuous Feed Printer, saved the Accord Group 30% on production and mailing costs, and generated significantly greater response. The successful campaign also helped Tele Mail attract new business.

Cathedral Corporation revamped Citadel credit unions statements with full-color digital printing and customized promotional messages. The new statements, which were created using a Xerox 980 Color Continuous Feed Printer and the Xerox FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection, have helped Citadel save money on production and mailing, and reduce call center staffing and spending.
