U.K. Government Agency Cuts Electric
Sustainable print project wins 2011 Green IT Award.
Like government agencies around the world, Britain’s Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) needed to cut costs and run a more sustainable operation. The group asked how Xerox could help by providing a managed print service.
We partnered with DWP to implement a ground-breaking sustainable print project. Fewer than 8,200 Xerox multi-function devices now do the work of more than 30,000 legacy single-function printers. The new ENERGY STAR® rated systems can all print, copy, fax and scan.
The deployment cut electricity use by 63% and won the Green IT Awards’ Public Sector Project of the Year for 2011.
