Giving 28,000 Kids Something to

Improving the dental health of disadvantaged children.
Quick, what’s the single most common chronic childhood disease? Pediatricians and dentists tell us it’s tooth decay. Even more troubling, compared to their peers in higher-income groups, disadvantaged children suffer twice as many cavities, which often go untreated.
To combat this problem, ACS, A Xerox Company, launched the ACS Dental Outreach Initiative. Working with dental associations across the country, the program educates children on dental hygiene, provides free oral screenings and a package of dental care products for them to bring home.
So far, we’ve helped more than 28,000 kids in 80 locations, and screenings in four more states will be added this year.
