The Ducati Xerox Team in 2008

Since the birth of World Superbike in 1988, Ducati has claimed 641 wins and 14 world titles. The track record speaks for itself but it is the teamwork which sits at the heart of this.

We are proud to sponsor the most successful team in the competition’s history. Since we came on board as title sponsor in 2005, the team has won 26 races and one manufacturer’s championship; not a bad record in three years! The consistent dominance of the Ducati Xerox team is a testament to the passion of its members, their collaborative approach to problem-solving and their constant innovation.

Change is the dominant theme this year, however, and Ducati Xerox fans will observe many new and exciting features across the entire sponsorship; a new bike, a new rider and a new Xerox brand.

We also want to tell you a new story. While the Ducati Xerox team’s passion, unique sense of camaraderie and family spirit sets them apart from their competitors, our team’s constant self-questioning and desire to succeed makes us a force to be reckoned with in World Superbike. When it comes down to winning, all these factors explain why Ducati has been the most successful team in the competition’s 20 year history. They also explain why we have chosen to sponsor such a dominant force in motorsport.

In addition to the search for self-improvement, each Ducati Xerox team member’s specialisation is considered to carry as much value as the rest’s. It is only when these specialists work together that something truly amazing happens.

The Team as One

We, like Ducati, believe that people are at their most innovative and most productive when they work as a team. Just as Ducati is dedicated to bringing all their individual expertise together, so we at Xerox are dedicated to working alongside you to find the right answers for you, every time.

To be a member of the Ducati Xerox Team not only requires a passion for the sport, but also a reassured mental attitude and a problem-solving capacity. A key part of the job is discovering a problem, and working together as a team to analyse it together to find the right solution every time to make the bike perform that little bit better. Roberto Banci, Troy Bayliss mechanic, sums it all up pretty well:

“The process of learning every day from everyone else and from everything we do, being unique, always doing our best and applying everything you constantly learn with maximum commitment and precision. To achieve this, you need to have a passion for racing and a desire to win.”

2008

This year, 2006 world champion Troy Bayliss teams up with Ducati Xerox’s latest recruit, Michel Fabrizio, on the new Ducati 1098R. The season will consist of two extra rounds, taking the total number of races in 2008 to 15, with three new race venues in Portugal, Indonesia and the USA.

With Troy Bayliss set to retire from racing after a glittering career, who would bet against him bowing out in style with the Ducati Xerox Team in 2008.
