Eco-label Programs
Many Xerox products meet or exceed the requirements of the worlds most
widely-recognized certifications for product environmental performance -
the international ENERGY STAR and Canadas Environmental Choice
EcoLogo eco labels. Xeroxs eco label products provide environmental
benefits without compromising performance, quality or reliability. And
the energy- and paper-saving features of these machines bring value,
efficiency and flexibility to your work environment.
The ENERGY STAR program was initiated in 1993 by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency, with Xerox as a Charter Partner, as a
way to certify products with specific energy saving attributes. The
programs requirements become more challenging every few years. For more
information visit www.energystar.gov.
ENERGY STAR Version 1.1 became effective July 1, 2009: The
International ENERGY STAR program again tightened the ENERGY STAR
requirements to increase the benefits to the customer and to the
environment. ENERGY STAR Version 1.1 products are measured against
Typical Electricity Consumption (TEC) requirements. Duplex options,
signage and documentation are also required.
Please note: EPA ENERGY STAR Version 1.1 Qualification Notices, while
issued for the current, post July 1, 2009 ENERGY STAR requirements, may
have earlier dates listed on them, based on prior submission dates,
systems dates, etc. Be assured that ENERGY STAR Version 1.1
Qualification Notices are for the current, post July 1, 2009 ENERGY STAR
program.

The Environmental Choice program uses the EcoLogo to help consumers
identify environmentally-preferable products and services.
EcoLogo-certified office equipment must meet requirements for materials
conservation, energy efficiency and low emissions. Xerox has been a
leader in offering EcoLogo-certified products since 1996. For more
