Xerox Corporation encourages and supports diversity -- not only inside the company, but outside as well. Our world-class Supplier Diversity Program has achieved new levels of success each year, including many awards, such as the 2007 Ten Most Veteran Friendly Corporate Supplier Diversity Programs, 2007 Best Companies for Diversity, 2007 Hispanic Business Magazine and 2007 Michigan Minority Business Development Council Corporation of the Year-Commercial Products award.
About Our Program
Based on our finding that Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) meet and surpass corporate supply standards, the Supplier Diversity Program at Xerox has consistently established business partnerships with MWBE companies, Veterans/Service Disabled Veterans, HUBZone programs, Protected Workshop Vendors and we are establishing business relationships with Gay and Lesbian Business Enterprises.
Here are some of our achievements: - Since 1985, Xerox has purchased more than $5.0 billion in goods and services from qualified Minority/Women/Service Disabled Veterans Business Enterprises.
- In 2007, Xerox purchased approximately $400.0 million of goods and services with diverse suppliers which includes MWBEs, Small Disadvantage Businesses, Veterans, Service Disabled Veterans, Hub Zone and Protected Workshops in the United States, approximately 4.0 percentage points better than originally targeted.
- Total spending with MWBEs represented 31.2 percent of Xerox's annual qualified purchases. Approximately 1,000 MWBE suppliers benefited from these purchases.
How We Partner with MWBE Suppliers
The Xerox Supplier Diversity program utilizes MWBE companies for subcontracting of manufactured parts and assemblies. We ensure that all Suppliers/Business Partners are certified by a reputable group (e.g., National Minority Supplier Development Council, WBENC, NAWBO, SDB-Federal Government, 8A or other acceptable national groups).
We also review opportunities with MWBE companies for Tier One and Tier Two Solutions.
The Xerox Supplier Diversity program provides quarterly reporting, including MWBE performance, tracking reports, and needed measure compliance.
