Xerox Releases 2009 Report on Global Citizenship
The report provides a comprehensive overview of the company’s activities and progress in the areas of corporate social responsibility: environmental sustainability, governance and ethics, customer privacy and satisfaction, employee diversity and development and corporate giving and volunteerism. It can be viewed here. Highlights include: Company-wide greenhouse gas emissions are down 20 percent; total landfill avoidance equals 2.2 billion pounds since 1991 and Corporate Giving from topped $12.6 million.

Xerox Scientists Develop Chemical Armor to Extend the Lifespan of Xerographic Machines: A group of scientists at Xerox have developed a new chemical armor that protects photoreceptors in xerographic machines. Protected from normal wear and tear, a photoreceptor coated with the new “armor” can survive more than one million revolutions – nearly doubling its usable life. The longer life reduces the need for replacements enabling a 33 percent reduction in waste.
