Object Workflow and Counterfeit Deterrence Systems

Robust identification, marking, tracking, and processing of people, parts, packages, and associated documents can be accomplished simply with sophisticated machine-readable symbols called Xerox DataGlyph codes. This symbology is far more compact, reliable and unobtrusive than barcodes. The first integrated production system for encoding (marking) and decoding (reading) DataGlyph codes was produced at XSIS, and we can customize the DataGlyph code technology to satisfy your needs for a complete tracking solution.

XSIS has also developed a number of document security systems that employ a special chemical marker called a taggant. The taggants used to mark secure documents are incorporated into the printing medium (primarily toner) so they are covert, meaning they blend into the normal printing process in such a manner as to be virtually undetectable to the unaided human eye. To subsequently authenticate that a document or other object is an "original" (non-counterfeit), an XSIS-designed scanner is used to detect specific photo-optical effects from the taggant. Even if the presence of a taggant is detected by an unauthorized party using instruments, the target photo-optical effect will not be obvious. Further levels of security of documents to deter counterfeiting can be obtained by combining a series of taggant effects in an overall document security system.
