Anacomp

Anacomp Inc., a leading provider of information delivery systems and services, joined with XSIS to develop the Xerox Compatibility Feature (XCF), an option for Anacomp's XFP2000 computer output microfilm system. Equipped with the XCF option, an XFP2000 can accept data streams intended for Xerox high--speed laser printers and produce images on microfilm that are identical to those that the printers produce on paper. This exclusive imaging capability enables Xerox mainframe customers to create film archives of their Xerox page-print documents with 100 percent image fidelity.

Put us to the test. Find out how XSIS can apply its knowledge of printer technology and software to give you a "an edge" in your own volatile and competitive marketplace.

Merge Technologies

One of the first commercial applications for the use of DataGlyph codes is in the medical x-ray industry. Merge Technologies Inc. with XSIS has produced a hand-held DataGlyph code reader that works in conjunction with their "CaseWorks" tools. The Merge tools provide hospital radiological examiners the ability to simply point the reader at a DataGlyph code printed in the margin of an x-ray film image and click the button to get that particular image to be made part of the radiological examiners report on a patient.

This application takes advantage of three key features of DataGlyph codes: DataGlyph code blocks are unobtrusive (they do not distract the examiners eye from the far more critical task of examining the patient's image), DataGlyph codes do not return a wrong answer, DataGlyph codes are compact and the code blocks can be tailored to fit special geometries.

XSIS applies the best technology available to solve the customer's problem.

Engine Manufacturer

Work process improvement is the objective of a XSIS customer that designs, manufactures, assembles and services aircraft engines which are used by military and commercial customers worldwide. The customer also provides complete refurbishment/overhaul of used engines, disassembling each engine and either replacing thousands of parts and or reworking them to close tolerances and high performance specifications.

Many parts from different model engines look very similar. These same parts may require extensive rework (such as milling or sanding) during the overhaul process. The technician needs to be certain which part he is removing, replacing, repairing, reworking or reinstalling throughout the entire overhaul process. Errors can result in applying the incorrect rework procedure, installing the wrong part, installing the part incorrectly, or even installing a bogus or illegitimate part; any of which could damage the engine (and complicate refurbishment) or cause the part (and possibly associated parts) to be scrapped.

XSIS, under contract, designed an efficient and reliable system to mark and authenticate aircraft parts which is being implemented initially on a pilot basis. In full production, the system will enable this manufacturer to virtually eliminate mismarking and misidentification of engine parts during maintenance, service and overhaul work, resulting in significant labor and material cost savings.

XSIS' expertise and technology can enable you to control hard dollar losses from item mishandling, counterfeiting or both.

Covert Counterfeit Detection

To protect the integrity of US currency and worldwide confidence in it, XSIS engineered the Covert Counterfeit Deterrent System (CCDS). It represents groundbreaking technology which XSIS has continually refined for more than half a decade of R&D.

Working with the US department of Treasury, Bureau of Engraving and Printing and Federal Reserve System, XSIS developed a novel process which covertly marks US currency, monitors the marking quality, and performs authenticity checks of currency in circulation. XSIS' advanced capabilities in chemistry, sensors, high speed paper handling, hardware development, specialized production and field service were all key to the success of the CCDS.

In fact, R&D investments by XSIS and Xerox labs have produced a wide range of marking and sensing technologies. These capabilities can be employed for item identification to improve tracking and work proccesses; or for Counterfeit Detection wherever there is a requirement to ensure item authenticity, even under punishing environmental conditions and when the item is plastic, metal or other non-paper based material.

We design and implement complex systems, developing key components from scratch or integrating new Xerox technologies and standard products with third party components. Our history of success at program/project management helps ensure your success.
