If you have special printing or publishing requirements that cannot be satisfied by a base model Xerox product, or by any competitive digital printer, XSIS may have the exact solution you need.

Off-the-shelf solutions are available from XSIS to address a wide variety of applications that require printing on special paper stocks or unusual size paper -- common in certain industries, but not widely needed by the average Xerox user. In these cases, XSIS has already adapted and pre-packaged base model Xerox printers to provide specific new or enhanced functions. You get the benchmark image quality, performance and customer satisfaction for which Xerox is famous, but with the added capability to handle Lightweight Paper, Oversize Paper, or operator errors in stock loading via Stock-to-Image Matching.

For some Industry applications, there is too much variety in the paper stocks, output specifications or business processes for a totally pre-packaged solution to be effective. You need a solution that is optimized for your unique operating conditions. To address these variable application requirements, XSIS offers Custom Tailored Solutions.

Custom Tailored Solutions are based on existing, proven XSIS technology and designs. XSIS adjusts or tailors that general functionality to perform at the desired level on a customer's specific paper stocks. By testing with the customer's own materials, XSIS can evaluate all special job requirements and validate performance of the solution prior to delivery.

XSIS specializes in adapting high speed networked and channel-connected Xerox printers -- color as well as black-and-white. Custom Tailored Solutions may incorporate modifications to regular printer features, combinations of features not normally available together on the same system, variations on XSIS pre-packaged solutions, or extensions of pre-packaged solutions to new platforms. XSIS has the answer even if your objective is to print source files in special formats at rated speed, including PDF, JPEG, TIFF derivatives or CCITT Group 4.

Among the frequently needed Custom Tailored capabilities which XSIS can deliver are: support for Glossy stocks, Envelope printing, processing of Small format sheets (smaller than Xerox printers normally handle), and access to additional input trays through a Multi-bin Feeder.

 Glossy Stock Printers

Customers who want to print on their own glossy stocks, rather than the "UltraSpec" brand of glossy paper sold by Xerox, now have that option. XSIS has adapted high speed Xerox printers to run a representative number of glossy stocks, such as Number 1 and Number 2 rated Gloss paper. Glossy papers can be printed in either simplex or duplex mode. Customer supplied samples must be tested to ensure reliable feeding, printing and stacking.

 Small Format Printers

XSIS has adapted Xerox high speed printers for imaging on small format paper (less than 7"x10") with 600dpi resolution in high volume, production environments. Sheets can be as small as 4.5" x 8.5" (114 mm x 216 mm) and will print at speeds up to 135ppm. The customer is asked to supply samples of his documents for testing by XSIS.

The system is configured to accommodate both standard and small format cut sizes, weights, perforations and preprinted inks. For the small format paper size (as well as sheets larger that 8.5"x14") the paper is fed short edge first. For sizes ranging from 7"x10" up to 8.5"x14", the paper is fed long edge first through the paper path.
