Civilian Agency Messaging Systems
XSIS pioneered formal government automated message
printing and processing over two decades ago when the
first Xerox Message Processor (XMP) was developed for the
U.S. State Department. In addition to automatically
printing messages for the Government, in 1981 XSIS also
developed the first automated profiling system for the
State Department called the Automated Message Analysis
and Dissemination System (AMADS). Today, AMADS
automatically disseminates all State Department message
traffic, both incoming and outgoing.
The Xerox Distributed Message System (XDMS) is
the latest advance in softcopy LAN-based information
distribution. XDMS incorporates automated profiling,
archiving, and dissemination of message traffic right to
the desk of the action officers who need the information.
Now, paper copies of the messages can be printed
centrally or on the LAN only when the user needs a hard
copy.
Now, as part of the Lockheed Martin Corporation's Defense
Message System (DMS) team, XSIS has been selected to provide the Profiling
User Agent (PUA), a key component of the DMS infrastructure for delivering
time sensitive, critical organizational messages to the right end users.
